2015 National Day of Prayer

On Thursday, May 7 Faith Lutheran Church commemorated the 64th annual National Day of Prayer, “Lord, Hear Our Cry,” by holding an open house.  At 12:00 noon the Pastor joined other religious leaders of many faiths throughout the nation by simultaneously reading a special prayer written by Dr. Jack Graham.  On April 17, 1952 President Harry S. Truman signed a a bill proclaiming an official National Day of Prayer.  Traditionally each year the current president signs a proclamation, encouraging all Americans to pray on that day.  Members of the congregation and community joined thousands across our country, “Investing in Hope — Transforming our Nation Through Prayer.”  In addition, the movie, “God's Not Dead.,” was shown.  On Friday, June 19 there will be another opportunity to view the film at Faith.  The church provided an evangelism table with handouts, and light refreshments were available.  Pictured is Pastor Christopher Sperb reading from Scripture.
