2016 movie -- God’s Not Dead 2

On Friday, July 22, Faith Lutheran Church hosted congregational and community members to a free outdoor screening of the movie, “God’s Not Dead 2.”  This was a follow-up film to the successful “God’s Not Dead” which was shown at Faith on June 19, 2015.  That film highlighted a debate between an evangelical college student and an atheist philosophy class professor when the student refuses to sign a declaration that “God is dead” in order to receive a passing grade.  The sequel moved the scene to a high school where a History teacher, quoting Scripture, answered a question about the connection between the teachings of Gandhi and Martin Luther King, Jr. and the teachings of Jesus.  Atheist parents of the student who asked the question objected to the answer, and a court battle ensued.
Water, lemonade and other snacks, and an evangelism table with Christian DVD’s, Bibles, and Christian tracts were available, all free of charge.  Prior to the movie, the audience enjoyed the piano music of Josh Flanick.  Pictured in the foreground are left to right: church members Ray and Michele Linscomb interacting with community members Suzanne and Richard Stultz.
